Howdy! My name is Cecilia Evans I graduated in May 2006 from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science in Middle Grades Education (4th-8th grades) in Language Arts and Social Studies. I also have a degree in English as a Second Language and Physical Education (K-12th grades).
I am a mother of two little girls, Camdyn and Collins, and have been happily married for 14 years to my husband Clint.
My first year (2006) as a teacher was at Blackshear Elementary in Hearne, TX teaching 4th grade Texas History, Language Arts, and Reading.
The next four years (2007-2011) I taught 7th Grade Texas History and coached girls volleyball, basketball, and track at Livingston Junior High in Livingston, TX.

The next four years (2011-2015) were spent working at Kirbyville Junior High and absolutely love being a reading teacher! I teach 7th Grade Reading and 8th Grade Reading Remediation. Each year I continue to grow as a teacher and enjoy finding new ways to incorporate technology and getting reluctant readers interested in a series of books. Nothing is more rewarding than having a student rush to you and tell you all about how amazing their new book is.
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I come from a family of teachers, my Step-Mom and Aunts are all teachers. In 4th grade was when I first decided that I wanted to be a teacher too(Thank you Mrs. Manning - 4th Grade Reading - Woodrow Wilson Elementary). As a High School Ag student (Thank you Mr. Flower - Custer County High School Ag Teacher) I wanted to bring that feeling of wanting to be in class, hands on activities, and being excited to learn new things attitude to the regular classroom. I have always loved figuring out how things are made and the history of cultures and civilizations. This love of the past helps me to break things down to help students build their own knowledge.
